What does Y'shua/Jesus have to do with Christmas?

Today is December 25, 2010. It is also known as Christmas to many people around the world. This holiday contains the word Christ in it. But what does Christ have to do with Christmas? Was Y'shua born on the 25th of December? Did He command Christians to celebrate the 25th of December as His Birthday? Please view this video for some important answers to these questions.

It Can Only Get Better-The Test and Trials of Life

Boy, what a week I had. I felt like Job from the Bible; bad report after bad report. But I feel so blessed to have to someone strong, gentle, righteous and loving on my side: G-d. My faith was certainly being tested this week, but I could always feel G-d drawing me even closer to Him. I was starting to wonder where He was. But He was right there all the time; encouraging me and reminding me Who was in control.

You know. It seems that's when we feel closer to G-d; in the storm. At least I do. We can become complacent in our every day lives. The run-of-the mill routines of work, no rest, bills, more tests. I am just so glad to have a friend in Y'shua. I really could not have made it through this week.

I wanted to share my story, because I believe that I can't separate my physical life from my spiritual. It's all or nothing to me. This is how I make it through those rough days; G-d's Strong Arm and Gentle Touch.  And that is why I want to say, Thank YOU with a song, L-rd.

What does Y'shua/Jesus Christ have to do with Channukah?

Many people will not understand this or agree with it, but please just open your hearts and mind to what the Spirit is saying. Y'shua or Jesus Christ has nothing to do with Christmas. In fact, today is the first day of Channukah. It is considered a Jewish holiday, because Y'shua went to the Jews first. The Law was given to them to be a light to the nations. (See More Below)

The fact is Y'shua/Jesus was conceived on the first day of Channukah and 9 months later, He was born.  Today, is the Day that Y'shua was placed inside the womb of the Virgin Mary, by the Holy Spirit of YHVH.
 Matthew 1:18-25
18 Now this is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
19 Joseph, her fiance being a just man, decided to break the engagement quietly, so as not to disgrace her publicly.
20 As he considered this, he fell asleep, and an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. "Joseph, son of David," the angel said, "do not be afraid to go ahead with your marriage to Mary. For the child within her has been conceived by the Holy Spirit.
21 And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus,/Y'shua* for he will save his people from their sins."6
22 All of this happened to fulfill the Lord's message through his prophet:
23 "Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and he will be called Immanuel* (meaning, God is with us)."7
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord commanded. He brought Mary home to be his wife,
25 but she remained a virgin until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus.

So His Birthday actually comes in the Fall, on the Feast of Tabernacles, the first day of Sukkot, found in the book of Leviticus 23. It is not unknown, neither is on Christmas.

Y'shua is the fullfilmement of G-d's Law. Therefore this makes sense that we were given both His conception and His Birth date, although many claim not to know the actual birthday of the L-rd

The following are articles from Biblical Holidays.com

Read them for more information on the connection of Jesus Crhsit to Channuakah and Feast of Tabernacles.

I AM- John 8

Y'shua, (also known as Yeshua, Yahshua or Jesus Christ), has raised much controversy over the years. People of all faiths have had a profound interest in the Name of Jesus Christ or Y'shua Ha Moshiach/The Messiah. Theologians and philosophers have attempted to explain His Birth, Life, Death and Resurrection. Most people agree that Y'shua was a real historical figure, but a common number of people do not believe that He is the Son of G-d; and that He died on the cross, and rose again, as the Living Christ/Messiah.

One person we should ask is Y'shua Himself. What did Y'shua say about Himself? To sum it up in a nutshell, let's look at John Chapter 8. Let those who have eyes and those who have ears see and hear what the Spirit is saying to them.
What did Y'shua say about Himself? Is He G-d Incarnate, the Son of the Living Creator and Ruler of the Universe? Let's take a look at John 8 for answers to these spiritually thought-provoking questions.

Hebrew Names Version of the Bible: John chptr 8

Jhn 8:1 but Yeshua went to the Mount of Olives.

Jhn 8:2 Now very early in the morning, he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him. He sat down, and taught them.

Jhn 8:3 The Sofrim and the Perushim(Sandrehin and Pharasees) brought a woman taken in adultery. Having set her in the midst,

Jhn 8:4 they told him, "Teacher, we found this woman in adultery, in the very act.

Jhn 8:5 Now in our law, Moshe commanded us to stone such. What then do you say about her?"

Jhn 8:6 They said this testing him, that they might have something to accuse him of. But Yeshua stooped down, and wrote on the ground with his finger.

Commentary: Y'shua stooped down, and wrote on the ground with His finger. What was the significance of this. Exodus 20 recounts the giving of the Ten Commandments. Exodus 31 tells us that G-d wrote the Ten Commandments with His very own finger.
Exd 31:18
He gave to Moshe, when he finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the testimony, stone tablets, written with God's finger.

Y'shua stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger. He was informing the Yehudim that He was the One who made the law against adultery. He was the Great "I AM"

Let's continue:

Jhn 8:7 But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her."

Jhn 8:8 Again he stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground.

Jhn 8:9 They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last. Yeshua was left alone with the woman where she was, in the middle.

Jhn 8:10 Yeshua, standing up, saw her and said, "Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?"

Jhn 8:11 She said, "No one, Lord." Yeshua said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more."

Jhn 8:12 Again, therefore, Yeshua spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life."

Jhn 8:13 The Perushim therefore said to him, "You testify about yourself. Your testimony is not valid."

Jhn 8:14 Yeshua answered them, "Even if I testify about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from, and where I am going; but you don't know where I came from, or where I am going.

Jhn 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.

Jhn 8:16 Even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent me.

Jhn 8:17 It's also written in your law that the testimony of two people is valid.

Jhn 8:18 I am one who testifies about myself, and the Father who sent me testifies about me."

Jhn 8:19 They said therefore to him, "Where is your Father?" Yeshua answered, "You know neither me, nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also."

Jhn 8:20 Yeshua spoke these words in the treasury, as he taught in the temple. Yet no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.

Jhn 8:21 Yeshua said therefore again to them, "I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sins. Where I go, you can't come."

Jhn 8:22 The Yehudim therefore said, "Will he kill himself, that he says, 'Where I am going, you can't come?'"

Jhn 8:23 He said to them, "You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.

Jhn 8:24 I said therefore to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins."

Commentary: Y'shua uses the term, I AM again

Jhn 8:25 They said therefore to him, "Who are you?" Yeshua said to them, "Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

Jhn 8:26 I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you. However he who sent me is true; and the things which I heard from him, these I say to the world."

Jhn 8:27 They didn't understand that he spoke to them about the Father.

Jhn 8:28 Yeshua therefore said to them, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing of myself, but as my Father taught me, I say these things.

Commentary: Y'shua again claims the Name: I AM

Jhn 8:29 He who sent me is with me. The Father hasn't left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him."

Jhn 8:30 As he spoke these things, many believed in him.

Jhn 8:31 Yeshua therefore said to those Yehudim who had believed him, "If you remain in my word, then you are truly my talmidim.

Jhn 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

Jhn 8:33 They answered him, "We are Avraham's seed, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, 'You will be made free?'"

Jhn 8:34 Yeshua answered them, "Most assuredly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin.

Commentary: The Yehudim (Jews) claimed the righteousness of Avraham through blood relations. They felt that they were right with G-d through the Law, and not through faith. Sin was not a factor in the equation, therefore they could not understand what Y'shua meant when He said that anyone who believes in Him, would be made free

Jhn 8:35 A bondservant doesn't live in the house forever. A son remains forever.

Jhn 8:36 If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.

Jhn 8:37 I know that you are Avraham's seed, yet you seek to kill me, because my word finds no place in you.

Jhn 8:38 I say the things which I have seen with my Father; and you also do the things which you have seen with your father."

Jhn 8:39 They answered him, "Our father is Avraham." Yeshua said to them, "If you were Avraham's children, you would do the works of Avraham.

Jhn 8:40 But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Avraham didn't do this.

Jhn 8:41 You do the works of your father." They said to him, "We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father, YHVH."

Jhn 8:42 Therefore Yeshua said to them, "If YHVH were your Father, you would love me, for I came out and have come from YHVH. For I haven't come of myself, but he sent me.

Jhn 8:43 Why don't you understand my speech? Because you can't hear my word.

Jhn 8:44 You are of your father, hasatan, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn't stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Jhn 8:45 But because I tell the truth, you don't believe me.

Jhn 8:46 Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?

Jhn 8:47 He who is of God hears the words of God. For this cause you don't hear, because you are not of God."

Jhn 8:48 Then the Yehudim answered him, "Don't we say well that you are a Shomroni, and have a demon?"

Jhn 8:49 Yeshua answered, "I don't have a demon, but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me.

Jhn 8:50 But I don't seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges.

Jhn 8:51 Most assuredly, I tell you, if a person keeps my word, he will never see death."

Jhn 8:52 Then the Yehudim said to him, "Now we know that you have a demon. Avraham died, and the prophets; and you say, 'If a man keeps my word, he will never taste of death.'

Commentary: Y'shua was speaking to them about the future: how He would be crucified and later resurrected for the redemption of their sins and all of mankind. See John 3:16
Jhn 8:53 Are you greater than our father, Avraham, who died? The prophets died. Who do you make yourself out to be?"

Jhn 8:54 Yeshua answered, "If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say that he is our God.

Jhn 8:55 You have not known him, but I know him. If I said, 'I don't know him,' I would be like you, a liar. But I know him, and keep his word.

Jhn 8:56 Your father Avraham rejoiced to see my day. He saw it, and was glad."

Jhn 8:57 The Yehudim therefore said to him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Avraham?"

Jhn 8:58 Yeshua said to them, "Most assuredly, I tell you, before Avraham came into existence, I AM."

Commentary: And there it is once again. Y'shua told the Yehudim, (Jews), that He was, is and always be the Great "I AM". The Father's Sacred Name is YAH, or YHVH. Y'shua came in the Father's Name. YAHshua means YAH's salvation. And He is. That is what He was trying to explain to the Yehudim. He is the YAH's salvation for the Jews and the Gentiles. He is the Messiah of Israel and the Savior of the World. He is the Great "I AM"...HaleluYAH

Jhn 8:59 Therefore they took up stones to throw at him, but Yeshua was hidden, and went out of the temple, having gone through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Making Physical Activity a Part of a Child's Life

Let's face it. Many of us find a hard time becoming active. With all of the daily activities we have to take care of, it just seems that we can never find time for exercise. But exercise is what will actually give us more energy, keep us more healthy and fit. Children who do not learn this lesson do grow up. When they do, they will continue the cycle. So what can you do to make physical activity a part of your child's life?

I found this article from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and wanted to share it. They have offered some very concrete, concise tips for both children and adults.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What can I do to get – and keep – my child active?

As a parent, you can help shape your child's attitudes and behaviors toward physical activity, and knowing these guidelines is a great place to start. Throughout their lives, encourage young people to be physically active for one hour or more each day, with activities ranging from informal, active play to organized sports. Here are some ways you can do this:

•Set a positive example by leading an active lifestyle yourself.

•Make physical activity part of your family's daily routine by taking family walks or playing active games together.

•Give your children equipment that encourages physical activity.

•Take young people to places where they can be active, such as public parks, community baseball fields or basketball courts.

•Be positive about the physical activities in which your child participates and encourage them to be interested in new activities.

•Make physical activity fun. Fun activities can be anything your child enjoys, either structured or non-structured. Activities can range from team sports or individual sports to recreational activities such as walking, running, skating, bicycling, swimming, playground activities or free-time play.

•Instead of watching television after dinner, encourage your child to find fun activities to do on their own or with friends and family, such as walking, playing chase or riding bikes.

•Be safe! Always provide protective equipment such as helmets, wrist pads or knee pads and ensure that activity is age-appropriate.

What if my child has a disability?

Physical activity is important for all children. It's best to talk with a health care provider before your child begins a physical activity routine. Try to get advice from a professional with experience in physical activity and disability. They can tell you more about the amounts and types of physical activity that are appropriate for your child's abilities.

Here I AM: Pressures of Being Yourself in the Midst of Your Peers

Today, both boys and girls are facing peer pressure. This is nothing new under the sun. It just seems that the age that they face pressure is much earlier. The following video is from The Camp Rock movie, when Peggy sings at the Camp Rock Talent Show. All summer, she was under the shadow of all of peers, and HERE SHE IS; letting everyone know that she is her own individual with her own gifts, talents and dreams.

As you watch this video, think back how it was for you as a child, a teen and now, an adult. Help your children to overcome peer pressure by letting them know; first, that you can relate to this type of pressure, that you are concerned, and them help give them the tools they need to overcome this pressure. Find resources to help deal with bullying, which is more serious than peer pressure. Let them know they are unique, special and have a purpose. Let them know that they don't have to give into any pressure that their peers present, which includes giving up their own individual identity.

Please feel free to leave your questions or comments below and thanks for blogging with us. G-d bless.

Can Children Pray Without a Parent?

Mark 10: 13-16
People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." 16 And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

Today during school, we came across in our daily devotion, the question, Can children pray without a parent? The answer is surely, yes. When our children are young, we are told to train them up in the way the Way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Children are "little" people. All people are created in the image of G-d. (Genesis 1:26-27).  Therefore, children should have the right to come to G-d too. I remember when I was a little girl. My mother raised me in Church, as a baby. I would lay in a bassinet during church service. I couldn't even talk or walk. All I could do was lay their and listen, sleep and sometimes cry. But I was in Church. My mother was bringing me to Y'shua/Jesus. She was planting the seed. Later, as I grew in years, I begin to pray to G-d, on my own.

Today I have my own children. I believe that we must pray together as a Congregation, with other believers and with family; but in order to develop a personal relationship with G-d, we need one on one time with Him. Y'shua, the Son of G-d, our Blessed L-rd and Savior, often prayed to the Father, alone. So it should be with all believers, even children. That is why I am training my children to pray alone to G-d.

Parents, when you are praying, teach your children to pray. In your own prayers, pray for your children to learn to pray to G-d alone. Below are some books that can help you get started with prayer. Prayer should always be sincere and from the heart, but these books will help you in your endeavor. G-d bless.

Edom will be humbled for it's wickedness against Israel: The Words of YHVH through the prophet Obadiah

Yesterday's lesson was about Edom/the Edomites. They were the descendants of Jacob/Israel's twin brother, Esau. Israel and Edom are relatives, but Edom decided to turn its back on Israel. We read the book of Obadiah. Obadiah was a prophet who, by the words of YHVH, proclaimed the destruction of the Edomites, for all the wickedness they had done against Israel. Since G-d is the same yesterday, today and forever, this prophecy is for all those who incite violence in the land of Israel; G-d specifically naming the Edomites, descendants of Esau. Take a look at/listen to this video. Listen closely to the words from YHVH. Clearly and sure, thus saith the L-rd, and if  He said it, then it shall surely come to pass.

Hebrew vs Greek Education

As I was pondering on something that a few of my Facebook Friends and I had been talking about over the past few days, I was led today to an old website that I am all too familiar with. I have used this website over the years for home school resources, and for more information on G-d's Holy Feast Days.

Heart of Wisdom is a website that speaks of the Hebrew mindset vs. Greek mindset. This website tell us about the life of Y'shua and how He is the fulfillment of the Law. It also talks about G-d's Holy Days vs. the pagan rituals and days being celebrated in the Christian Church Today. It talks about how the Hebrews lived and taught their children vs. the way of the world/Greeks.

As believers in the Messiah/Christ, we must look to Him and come to Him, the way He chooses; not the way the world perceives Him, or the way our ancestors taught us. I pray that Ruach Ha Kodesh, (the Holy Spirit) will give you revelation as only He can. He is Ruach Emet, (the Spirit of Truth) and if you seek the Truth, you will find it, and it shall set you free.

Ancient Greek Education

Ancient Hebrew Education

Goal

Prepare individuals to serve the state. Prepare individuals to serve God.

How
Accomplished

1) Memorize the laws of Lycurgus, the Spartan lawgiver.
2) Memorize selections from Homer.
3) Develop physical excellence through games, exercises, and the pentathlon (running, jumping, throwing the discus, casting the javelin, and wrestling)
1) Transmit knowledge and skills from generation to generation.
2) Increase knowledge and skills.
3) Concretize cultural values into accepted behavior
Teach students to trust the state.
Teach children to trust God in everything.
Prepare for the state. Prepare for eternity.
Examine the world by classifying whole things into parts by removing them from the Creator. Redefine knowledge: Final reality is impersonal matter or energy, shaped into its present form by impersonal chance.
Look at God’s world as a whole—interconnecting—revealing God in every area. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmaments sheweth his handywork (Psalm 19:1).
Immerse students in literature written by ancient Greek philosophers. Teach children to love learning so they will become self-motivated, lifelong learners.
Focus on self-esteem, emotional adjustment, and external training of the body. Develop endurance, resourcefulness, and physical prowess. Discover a child’s God-given gifts and talents, and develop them to their fullest potential. Focus on spiritual training.

Result

Self-centered: “My will be done.” Violence, corruption, pornography, racial tension, promiscuity, abortion, infanticide, etc.
God-centered: “Thy will be done.” Authority with responsibility. Literacy, strong family ties, love of learning, security, independent thinking, high morals and values.

Education Techniques for Children with Autism

Today's statistics of children with autism range from 1 out every 150 children. My son just happens to be that 1. He is growing and soon will become a grown man. I have wondered over the years what I could have and should have done better as the mother of an autistic child. I still wonder what I can do now. It just seems that as my son grows older, so we all are faced with new challenges on the autism spectrum.

I can only imagine what he feels like and what there is anyone can do. I had to face new challenges this month, with his constant crying spells and other behaviors. He goes this week to see his neurologist, for more test, more advice and  more decisions on my husband and my part.

I have looked into some YouTube videos and found some really great ones that I have favorited. I wanted to share them here, in hopes that they will help someone who may be experiencing the same things in their lives, or knows someone who is.

Ephesians 6:4 Parents, Do Not Provoke Your Children to Anger

The L-rd pressed an issue on my heart today; parent and children relationships. Please see the following article on how we can provoke our children to anger. This can instill disobedience in them, which does not please the L-rd. Ephesians 6:1 says, Children, obey your parents, for this is right in the L-rd.

Disclaimer: The following article is written by and is the property of Steve Shank. I make no claims to this article. Please read and take what the L-rd convicts and places upon your heart to apply to your lives. May YHVH richly bless you as He turns the hearts of the children back to the parents and the hearts of the parents back to the children.

WAYS THAT PARENTS PROVOKE THEIR CHILDREN TO ANGER

By Steve Shank
http://www.lhc-pa.org/_files/Provoke.pdf

I. You can provoke your child to anger when you fail to demonstrate

biblical love (1 Corinthians 13:4-8a) to your child through:

A. Impatience (not waiting for your child to finish a task or hurrying your

child to do something that is beyond his capabilities) (violating 1 Cor

13:4; Gal 5:22; Ephes 4:1-2; Col 1:9-12, 3:12)

B. Unkindness (not providing for your child’s physical needs because you are

too busy with your own interests) (violating 1 Cor 13:4; Gal 5:22, Ephes

4:32; Phil 2:3-4; 2 Tim 2:24; Titus 2:4-5)

C. Jealousy (trying to prove to your child that you can do something better

than he can) (violating 1 Cor 13:4; Gal 5:19-20; James 3:13-18)

D. Bragging saying things such as “I had it a lot harder when I was your

age”) (violating Prov 27:2; Rom 1:30; 1 Cor 13:4; 2 Cor 10:18)

E. Arrogance (saying such things as “We’ll do it my way because I’m a lot

smarter and a lot bigger than you”) (violating Rom 1:3-; 1 Cor 13:4)

F. Unbecoming actions (purposefully embarrassing and demeaning your

child by discussing his failures and shortcomings in front of others)

(violating 1 Cor 13:5; Ephes 4:29)

G. Seeking to have it your own way (insisting that your child or family do

only what you want to do) (violating 1 Cor 13:5; Phil 2:3-4)

H. Taking into account wrongs suffered (reminding your child in an accusing

manner of his past failures by saying things such as “I’ve told you this a

thousand times…”) (violating 1 Cor 13:5; Ephes 4:32; Col 3:12-13)

I. Rejoicing in unrighteousness (encouraging your child to retaliate for

wrongs he has suffered from others) (violating 1 Cor 13:6; 2 Thess 2:12)

J. Not rejoicing in truth (failing to commend your child for being truthful in

a difficult situation) (violating 1 Cor 13:6; 1 Thess 5:16; 1 Peter 4:13; 2

John 1:4; 3 John 1:3)

K. Not bearing all things (avoiding, criticizing, or neglecting your child

because he wasn’t perfect in meeting your expectations) (violating 1 Cor

13:7; Gal 6:2)

L. Not believing or hoping all things (consistently doubting what your child

says before you know all the facts) (violating 1 Cor 13:7)

M. Not enduring all things (responding in anger to your child because you are

focused on your own difficulties) (violating 1 Cor 13:7; James 1:2-4)

II. You can provoke your child to anger when you fail to live as an example

of the believer (1 Tim 4:12) by:

A. Acting hypocritically (judging your child’s behavior when you do not

continually examine your own life by God’s Word) (violating Matt 7:1-5)

B. Lying to your child or requesting your child to lie for you (violating Rom

14:13; Ephes 4:15, 25)

C. Arguing with your child or arguing with your spouse in the presence of

your child (violating Prov 20:3; Phil 2:14-16; Col 4:6; 2 Tim 2:24-25)

D. Teasing your child (tickling him to the point of tears or making fun of him

when he has been embarrassed or has failed in an endeavor) (violating

Ephes 6:4; Col 3:12)

E. Speaking to your child in a unwholesome manner (calling him names or

yelling at him in anger) (violating Ephes 4:29; Col 4:6)

F. Showing partiality to one child over another (violating Prov 24:23; also

see Gen 25:24-34, esp verse 28, and Gen 27:1-28:9 for illustrations of the

evils precipitated by parents favoring one child over another)

III. You can provoke your child to anger when you seek to become the

ultimate authority in the life of your child instead of showing him the

importance of following the Lord (based on Ezekiel 18:4-20, esp verse 4

and 20; 2 Cor 3:5-6; 2 Tim 3:16-17; James 1:22-25)

A. Practicing a double standard and demanding that your child serve you

continually, while you fail to serve your child and others (violating Matt

20:25-28; Mark 9:35; 20:42-45)

B. Treating your child as a possession or imposing your own aspirations on

him (insisting that he meet the goals that you have arbitrarily set for his

life) (violating Deut 6:6-7; Psalm 24:1, 127:3; Ephes 6:4)

C. Swearing at your child or using harsh, contentious language when he does

not meet certain standards (violating Prov 12:18, 20:3; Ephes 4:15, 29,

31; Col 4:6; James 3:2-12)

D. Comparing your child to yourself or others to show him the ways in which

he does not measure up to your standards (violating 2 Cor 10:12, 17-18)

IV. You can provoke your child to anger when you act in an inconsistent

manner in front of, or toward your child by:

A. Failing to keep your word and becoming untrustworthy (promising to take

him someplace and then arbitrarily changing your plans in order to please

yourself) (violating Matt 5:37; Ephes 4:15, 25; Col 3:9)

B. Failing to discipline biblically when necessary (violating Prov 13:24,

23:13; Heb 12:7-8) or disciplining when provoked and angry (violating 1

Cor 13:5; Ephes 4:31)

C. Being erratic and inconsistent in your speech or actions (showing little or

no response to your child’s disobedience on one day but at another time

becoming visibly upset, using unkind words, and punishing rather than

restoring) (violating Prov 15:1; Gal 6:1; Ephes 4:15, 29; Col 4:6)

D. Failing to confess sins that you have committed against your child or

seeking to give excuse for your sinful behavior in an effort to justify

yourself (violating Mat 5:23-24; Rom 12:18; James 5:16)

E. Refusing to forgive your child (making statements such as “I’ll never be

able to forgive you for what you’ve done to me”) while demanding that

your child forgive others for wrongs done against him (violating Mat

5:23-24; 18:21-22; Mark 11:25-26; Ephes 4:32; Col 3:12-13)

V. You can provoke your child to anger when you neglect your child by

A. Failing to spend time with your child in order to show the application of

God’s word to everyday life (violating Duet 6:6-7)

B. Failing to listen patiently when your child speaks to you because you are

“too busy” with your own interests (violating 1 Cor 13:4-5; Phil 2:3-4;

James 1:19)

C. Failing to discipline your child biblically or in a timely manner by

delaying discipline because “you don’t feel like it” or waiting to discipline

your child until a number of wrongs have accumulated (violating Prov

13:24, 19:18; Ecc 8:11)

Israel and Judah: A Divided Kingdom

Today's studies were about the kings of Israel and their reign, and the effects their decisions had on Israel's state. We researched Israel's kings over time, after the reign of King David. The studies were from 1 and 2 Kings and 1 and 2 Chronicles. We looked at kings from David to Ahab.
It seems that King David was a man after G-d's own heart. David had praise and a heart for G-d. King David's son and successor, Solomon, had wisdom and riches, but he served the L-rd half-heartedly. He brought the land of Israel into capitivity and actually caused the kingdom to become divided.
Israel was divided into 10 tribes; the northern kingdom and Judah and Benjamin were divided into the southern kingdom. This all took place because King Solomon turned to worshipping false gods and erecting monuments to Baal. He led the whole nation into Baal worship. This angered YHVH and caused the land to be divided.
The kings after Solomon were all wicked; from Rehoboam to Ahab. They all did what was pleasing in their own sight, and did not please the L-rd. Only one king, Asa, refused to practice idolatry, and even deposed his own grandmother from being Queen, because she worshipped the pagan goddess, Ashetar or Easter.

Today, G-d is gathering the tribes of Israel back to the land which He swore to give their fathers, and making them whole again. As He gathers the scattered tribes of Israel back to the land, the 12 tribes of Israel will be reunited. This is happening all in our time.

The Hebrew Names for the Days of the Week

The 7th Day Calendar is derived from the Biblical account of Creation. In the beginning, G-d created the heavens and the earth... This event took place in 6 days and on the seventh day, G-d ceased from all of His Work and rested on the Sabbath.
On the Hebew Calendar, all of the days of the week are represented by numbers; i.e. Day 1, Day 2, with the exception of the seventh (7th) day. This day is referred to as the Sabbath Day or in Hebrew, Shabbat. It's literal meaing is rest. Thus, the Seventh Day of the Week is the Day that G-d sanctified as the Sabbath and rested. Thus it is called Yom Shabbat.

Below is a listing of the Days of the Week. Please note the Secular days of the Week that coincide with the Hebrew Days.

Lesson: Judges/ Deborah: Judge and Prophetess

Today's Lesson: Deborah is mentioned in the Book of Judges (Judges 4&5). She was just one of the few prophetess mentioned in the Scriptures. She also held the office of judge. During the time of Israel's captivity by the Caananites, Deborah was raised up by G-d, for Israel's deliverance. She had strong faith in G-d. Where no man was willing to go, she was. She, along with Barak, gathered an army to fight against the Caananites and won victory for Israel. But Deborah received the recognition for the victory, not Barak. She was known as the real leader of Israel, because of her great faith in G-d

Yom Tov: Shavuot (Pentecost) May 18, 2010

Shalom! Today we are celebrating Shavuot; the Remembrance of the Giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, during the Old Covenant, and the Remembrance of the Giving of the Spirit, (Ha Ruach) at Pentecost, during the Renewed Covenant, (The New Testament).

In the Old Testament, The Torah was given to the Israelites after the Exodus from Egypt and the land of sin and slavery. G-d made a covenant with his people, there at Mount Sinai, through His prophet, Moshe, (Moses).
The Ten Commandments also known as the Decalogue, were spoken to the people from the mouth of G-d and written on tablets of stones by His own finger, infering the Divinity, Sovereignty and Infinite Nature of the Laws. (Exodus 19-20)

Later in History, Y'shua, the Son of G-d, (YHVH) came to Earth to bridge a gap between a Holy G-d and sinful man. Y'shua died on the stake as the righteous sacrifice for anyone who would confess that they have sinned and fallen short of G-d's perfect standards, and accept the acquital through Y'shua's death and resurrection, the Way back to G-d. (Yochanan/John 3:16)

Y'shua promised that after He completed the work the Father gave Him, He would return to Heaven, but would not leave us alone; that He would send another Comforter; Ruach Ha Kodesh, the Holy Spirit. And He did just that. (John 14:15-26 and 16:7-15)

Y'shua ascended to Heaven 40 days after His Resurrection. He told the Apostles to wait in the upper room for 10 days, and He would send Ruach Ha Kodesh. On the day of Shavuot, the Holy Spirit ascended upon the Apostles while in Jerusalem and they all spoke in different languages. 3,000 people were saved and believed the Gospel. (Acts 2)

Today, the Holy Spirit is with all believers in Y'shua as He was with the Apostles. He is the Comforter, Who will never leave you alone. To learn more about Ruach Ha Kodesh, visit Knowing the Person of the Holy Spirit

Another key point of today is that Shavuot is based on G-d's Holy Calendar, a lunar calendar, which has been entrusted to the Jewish people, (Israel). Today, the Gregorian Calendar, which is a solar calendar, is widely used amongst the nations. So how do we know when to celebrated G-d's Holy Days?

Gen 1:14 ¶ And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: Gen 1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. Gen 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also. Gen 1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, Gen 1:18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that [it was] good. Gen 1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

Here we can see a few things: 1. On the fourth day of creation, G-d created the sun and the moon and the stars. 2.G-d created these lights for signs, seasons, days and years. Thus G-d was giving us our calendar.
3.We can also see that G-d's day does not start at 6am or 12am; rather it begins from sunset to sunset. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day....shows that the beginning of the day is the evening, not the morning.

The Jewish Lunar Calendar is the most accurate calendar that represents G-d's appointed days. The moon was given to govern the new month. Here are some scriptures that point to this fact.

Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, [that] from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

Psa 104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

Eze 46:1 Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon, (new month), it shall be opened.

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:

Since most calendars follow the solar Gregorian Calendar, in order to observe the Feast Days of G-d, you will need a converter.

As you spend this Shavuot with our Blessed L-rd and Creator, may He richly bless you with His Presence, Goodness and Favor. May you come to know Him, love Him and honor Him as He so much deserves.

Shalom B'Shem Adoneinu Y'shua Ha Moshiach,  (Peace unto you in the Name of our L-rd Y'shua Messiah)

Bo Ruach Elohim, Come, Holy Spirit of G-d

The Forbidden Commandments

These are the perpetual laws of YHVH G-d, King and Creator of the Universe;
 meaning everlasting and never ending.
(Exodus 20, Deut. 5)

The Decalogue as it is called, was spoken to the Israelites, and written on tablets of stone during the Exodus. But actually, these laws were in existence, since The Beginning. YHVH is Eternal, thus His Word is, also.
During the Exodus, the Israelites were given these commands. It was then, that the covenant between G-d and His people had begun, and is now completed through Adoneinu Y'shua, the Son of G-d.

That being said, Y'shua came to fulfill the Law, and not destroy it. Thus, these laws are perpetual. They were written on tablets of stone and now, YHVH promises to write them on the hearts of men.

Today, these words have been outlawed by men and forbidden by governments and the likes. You can't find these words, these 10 commandments, (which sums up the Law of Love), anywhere in public view; not in schools, nor courthouses, nor homes, and not even in most churches. The government has separated Church and State and has forbidden the display of YHVH's commands to the public eye.

If people cannot see or hear G-d's words, then how can He write them in their hearts?

These commands teach us two basic commands. You shall love YHVH, your G-d with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and love your neighbor as you love yourself. (Deut 6:5, Lev 19:18)

These are the same commands that Y'shua gave in the Renewed Covenant (New Testament)
 in Mark 12:29-31

Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. And the second is like it, is this: You shall love your neighbour as yourself. There is no greater commandment than these.

Thus we can say that the 10 commandments sum up the Law of Love; love for G-d and your neighbor. Since the Laws of G-d represent love, then what will happen to a nation, a people, a church, a school , a government without them. The opposite of love is hatred.

Thanks for blogging with us. May YHVH richly bless you.

America: The Land of the Free? or the Land Consumed with Sin?

America, the Beautiful, how you have turned your back on God
You say I am rich, but you have not taken a good look at the state you're in
Desolate and barren your land has become;
Filled with evil, sin, hatred, oppression and corruption.

How long will God, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth wink His eye at your sin,
Oh, Beautiful one?
How long will a loving God watch from His Holy, Heavenly Throne as you wander
Like lost sheep ready for the slaughter.

Pick up a mirror, o inhabitants of the earth. Wipe it clean; and then, look at your image through it.
Now, pick up the Holy Bible; open it and look at the Words from God. Now, look at your life
and the way you are living. Do you see the flaws in your life? Do you see them as if you were looking
in the mirror?
Your image is smeared and marred. But don't worry, America. There is hope for you yet.
God will not cover up your sins. This is what He says.

Thus saith YHVH God, Creator of the Universe, 1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The Bible explains what sin is. When you look in it and see what God says about the way to live, you must ask yourself if you are living the Way He says. If you are not, then you are in rebellion to your Creator.

America, the Beautiful. God made you beautiful. So without Him, beautiful you cannot, and will not remain.
Teshuva in Hebrew means to turn around, to repent.

God is calling all the inhabitants of the earth to perform Teshuva. Will you take heed or will you have to face God's righteous judgments?

Jos 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve YHVH, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve YHVH.

God always sends a wakeup call to those who have fallen asleep. You, oh America the Beautiful, are receiving a wake up call. Teshuva- turn to the Living God- El Chai. Seek Him while He can be found.

Shalom/Peace Be with you
